What do you need to get married in Florida?
Every marriage license is issued by a county court judge or clerk of the circuit court under his or her seal. You can get married in any county in Florida, regardless of where you obtain your marriage license. When applying for your marriage license, you will need a picture ID such as a driver’s license, state ID card, valid passport, and both parties will have to provide their social security numbers, but you do not have to have the actual social security card.
Can You Get Married the Same Day in Florida?
Unfortunately, no, unless you have completed the Florida pre-martial course. If you haven’t done the course, there is a 3 day wait period after issuance of the marriage license. Your marriage license is good for 60 days after issuance, and blood tests are not required.

Go to www.stateofflorida.com and go to permit links for marriage licenses. You can click on the front page under “Clerk of the Court” and contact information by county. Do I need witnesses to get married in Florida?
No, but there are areas on the marriage license for witnesses to sign. Do make sure the officiant fills the marriage license out completely, and it must be mailed back to the county where it was obtained from to be recorded properly.
